Allen R. Acker

Allen R. Acker, formally of New Cumberland, passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at Country Meadows of Hershey. Allen was born in Fleetwood, PA. He was the son of the late Alfred W. and Emily (Kline) Acker. He was a graduate of Fleetwood High School Class of 1944. Allen was a Navy Veteran of World War II, and the Korean War. He was a founding member of the Fleetwood VFW and was a lifetime member of Mechanicsburg VFW post 6704. After Allen served his Country, he was in retail and finished his career as a district manager, with the former Town & Country Department Stores, with 30 years of service. Allen finished his career, retiring from PHEAA. Surviving is his wife of 67 years, Norma Jean Acker, his two sons; Jeffrey Acker of Sarasota, Florida, and Scott Acker of Durham, North Carolina, two Grandchildren; Alexander and Christopher Acker. Allen was preceded in death by his daughter, Caren (McGill) Acker. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 745 W. Governor Rd. Hershey, PA 17033. Richardson Funeral Home of Enola is handling arrangement's.
