The Reverend Dr. Charles D."Chuck" Hiller, 71 of Summerdale, PA, and formerly of Berwick, PA passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at his home. Chuck was the son of the late Donald and Sara (Werts) Hiller. Chuck was survived by his wife of 38 years Jane (Waren) Hiller, his God Son, Kylan Barry, 3-Foster Children; John Messner, Michael Weinstein, and Jesse Schissler, 5-Siblings; Tom Hiller, (Louise), Marian Knights (Russ), Bill Hiller, Fred Hiller (Kelly), David Hiller (Judy), and numerous Nieces and Nephews, and Great-Nieces and Nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his Sister, Joyce Davis. Chuck was
a graduate of Berwick High School, and studied at the University of Texas at El Paso, was a Graduate of Penn State University, and received his Masters and Doctorate at Drew University. Chuck was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He served at First United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, Saginaw-Starview United Methodist Church, Mt. Wolf, St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, and retired from Summerdale United Methodist Church.
Chuck was a member and past President of Mechanicsburg North Rotary Club, Northeast Fire and Rescue EPFD Company 20 where he served as it's Chaplain, Vietnam Veterans of America were he served as it's Chaplain, and the Train collectors of America. Chuck was an avid Penn State fan and train collector. A viewing will be held Friday, February 22, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Summerdale Untied Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 23, 2019, with a viewing from 1: 00 PM until time of services in Market Square Presbyterian Church, Harrisburg. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Market Square Presbyterian Church, 20 S. Second Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101
or to Summerdale United Methodist Church, 203 2nd Street, Summerdale PA 17093. The family would like to thank Hospices of Central PA for the excellent care given to Chuck.
