Druce G. Hanshaw, 97, of Colonial Park, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 at her home.
Druce was a graduate of John Harris High School Class of 1940, and a graduate of
Kutztown University Class of 1944 where she received a B.S. in Public School Art.
Druce was a retired Elementary Arts Teacher for the Central Dauphin School District.
During her early years in the summers, she worked at the Harrisburg Hospital in
medical records. She worked on the security detail for President George W. Bush
and Vice President James D. Quayle's Inaugural Ball in Washington D.C., January 20, 1989.
She enjoyed teaching Arts and Crafts for the city Parks and Recreation summer Play Ground
program. She was a an Animal and Nature lover, enjoyed making Floral arrangements,
and loved to Dance with the Harrisburg Metro Singles Association, most of all, she loved
spending time with her Grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey H. Hanshaw of Mechanicsburg,
two Grandsons; Jeffrey Tyler Hanshaw, and Bradley Thomas Hanshaw. Funeral services
will be held at the convenience of the family.
