Jack Gruver Obituary

Jack G. Gruver, 88, of Carlisle, PA, known as "Pappy Jack" to his grandchildren, and

formerly of Dauphin, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Carlisle Hospital.

jack is survived by his brother, Jim and wife Shirley, nephews; James and Michael,

step-daughters; Shirley Wiest and husband Arlan, and Ruth Mattern, step-grandchildren;

Cindy Haas, Tim Wiest, Scott Wiest, Roxann Linn, and 7-great-grandchildren, his loving and 

faithful Companion, Evie Barrick, and several cousins. Jack was preceded in death by 

his wife Opal (Fulk) Gruver, his parents; William and Ada Gruver, a sister, Francis Stine, 

2-brothers; William and Dale. Jack served as a Marine Veteran during the Korean War.

He was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, and Hartman & Associates Surveyors.

jack enjoyed family get together's, and Country Music shows. Funeral services will be

held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 8, 2018 with the Reverend Dennis Fulk officiating 

in the Richardson Funeral Home Enola. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until time of

services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will be in

Indiantown gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
