Martha Houck Obituary

Martha E. Houck (Marty), 88, formerly of West Fairview, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Marty was born on May 10, 1930 in Lemoyne, PA and was the daughter of the late Ross and Martha Fasik. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard G. Houck Jr., two sister's, Shirley Rider and Jeanne Norman of Erie, PA and grandchildren, Karie and Kyle Hykes. Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Keckler and husband Marlin of Enola, Bonnie Hykes and husband John of Enola, Debra Beck and husband Roger of Dover, PA and Heidi Matesevac and husband Bob of Wake Forest, North Carolina and a sister Kathleen Tyler of Erie, PA. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, Nieces and nephews. Marty had worked for many years at Sears Roebuck and Company. She had a zest for life and amazed everyone many times with her stamina. She loved her family and spending time with them. She was a very social person who involved her self in activities at Masonic Village, and all who knew her loved her and her sweet loving spirit. She could light up a room with her smile and spread her positive energy where ever she went. She always had a positive outlook and would find the good in everything. Marty loved watching Lawrence Welk, game shows, Penn State Football and Nascar. She was a huge Elvis fan. She enjoyed word search books, playing Bingo at the Enola Fire Company #3 and Masonic Village and singing and playing chimes in the Masonic Village Choir. A time of remembrance will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Masonic Village Cultural/ Visiting Center, Lodge Multipurpose room, One Masonic Drive Elizabethtown. Memorial contributions may be made to Masonic Village Office of Gift Planning One Masonic Dr. Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or Enola Fire Company #3 118 Chester Rd. Enola, PA 17025
