Barry D “Chip” Seidel, 78 of Harrisburg passed peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer, on Thursday November 18, 2021. He was the husband of Kathy (Mehaffie) Seidel. Born on March 13, 1943,in Reading, PA to the late Charles and Ruth (Jennings) Seidel. He was a 1961 graduate of Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA. Barry was an avid gardener and was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed archery and hunting. He retired from Stauffers of Kissel Hill in Linglestown, PA in September of 2019.In addition to his wife, Barry will be missed by his children, daughter Teri Lynn“Chip”of Harrisburg, sons, Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Chuck (Cyndi) Seidel,Savannah, GA, Rick Seidel, Hawaii, and Nathan Seidel, Harrisburg, His 4 grandchildren Lynnea Masterstefone, JohnRice Jr., Brittany Wilson and Brandon Seidel along with 9 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a brother Harrison Seidel, of Bedford, TX, and a sister Jean Kemmerer, of Reading with many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by four brothers, Colonel Seidel, Reading, Herbert Seidel,Hawaii, Willard Seidel, Mohnton; Calvin Seidel, Womelsdorf; and a sister Mary(Alena) Avans, Hereford Township. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Barry’s memory to the American Cancer Society and/or the Salvation Army. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 10:00 Am to 2:00 PM in the Fishing Creek Valley Community Center 1361 Fishing Creek Valley Rd. Hbg, 17112.
