Deborah L. Gochenour

On Tuesday, February 4, 2020, Deborah Casey Gochenour, loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, and niece, passed away at the age of 58.

Deborah was born on December 25, 1961 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She earned her bachelor of social sciences degree with a concentration in behavioral sciences from Pennsylvania State University, and a master of science degree with a concentration in mental health counseling from Shippensburg University.

On October 27, 1984, Deborah married the love of her life, Keith.  They raised two children, Kristofer and Casey.  She protected and defended her husband, children, and the rest of her family above all else.

In her professional life, Deborah was the Director of the Magic Years Day Care Center in Carlisle, PA, before becoming a Director at the Community Action Commission in Harrisburg, PA.  Deborah finished her professional career as the Director of Operations at the Community Action Association of Pennsylvania in Harrisburg, PA, where she advocated for thousands of low-income Pennsylvanians on their journey out of poverty and into self-sufficiency.

Deborah was selfless, and had a passion for giving, especially around the holidays, when she took great joy in buying the perfect gift for everyone and watching them open it.
She enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family, including her pets, who she adored.  Deborah was very creative and loved to draw, decorate, and be "crafty."
Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Earl L. Casey.  She is survived by her husband, Keith, her mother Irene, her daughter, Casey, her son and his wife, Kristofer and Katherine, and several close family members.

A celebration of Deborah's life will be held at a later time for friends and family.
