On Wednesday, December 6, 2023 Dona Teeter, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away. Dona was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Donald and Irma Woodcock in 1941. She is survived by five of her children, Gregory Teeter and wife, Beth; Michael Teeter and wife, Suzanne; Jeffery Teeter and wife, Andrea; Michelle Teeter; and Cheri Teeter. Additionally, her seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren will remember her fondly as she always made them feel like the light of her life. Dona is now reunited with her husband Richard Seward Teeter, as well as her son, Richard Seward Teeter Jr.
Dona exemplified the true meaning of motherhood. It was the role that defined her life and brought her the most joy. She never missed an opportunity to enjoy holidays, family dinners, vacations, sporting events, and concerts. In addition to her beloved family, she was also well-loved by her wide circle of friends, to whom she also considered family.
Our Grammy will be best remembered for her warmth, charming smile, and the kindness she showed to every person regardless of if they were family, friend, or stranger. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She loved to cook for her family, decorate the house, and watch Hallmark Christmas movies on repeat. She was also very active. She loved travelling to new and exciting locations. Her favorite trips were often to the beach, where she spent all day listening to the waves and watching her family play in the sand. Dona was a devoted member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church. Her faith was fundamental to her, as was attending post-service breakfast with friends. Those that knew her, learned the value of spending quality time with those you love and they cherished her for it.
Dona's life will be celebrated on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at The Mechanicsburg Club, 333 Heinz Street, Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
The family invites all who knew and cared for her to gather, share memories, tell stories, and laugh together… all the very things Dona loved to do. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who are able to make a donation to Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, trindlespringlutheran.org.
