Donna F. Maurer

Donna F. Maurer 74, of Mechanicsburg entered eternal rest on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Harmony West Shore, where she had been a resident since December 2022 in Assisted Living.  

She was born at home on April 24, 1949, in Thompsontown, Juniata County. She was the daughter of the late John and Pauline (Stroup) Haubert and was preceded in death by her husband Jeffery L. Maurer in 2016. 

She sold Beeline Fashions in the 70’s and 80’s and had the top sales in the United States multiple times. After Beeline Fashions Donna went to work at John Wanamaker’s Department Store at the Harrisburg East Mall. She remained a loyal employee as the store transitioned to Lord & Taylor, Hecht’s and finally Macy’s, where she retired in August 2020 with over 30 years of service. Donna was a dedicated sales associate and treated her customers as if they were family. She received numerous award and recognitions during her employment. In the 1980’s Donna and her best friend Debbie DeBiase owned and operated Do it Now Fitness Salon in the former Jamesway Plaza (Middletown) for several years.  

Donna had many friends she cherished, loved her customers, her family, the outdoors and took great joy in her roadside flower stand, which she operated for several years through 2022.  

Donna is survived by her sons, Brian Thompson and his wife Brenda of Enola and Jason Thompson of Middletown; granddaughter Brianna Brandt and her husband Tyler of Enola; grandsons Bryce Thompson of Enola and David Thompson and his fiancée Stephanie Stoner of New Cumberland; great-grandson Owen Thompson; her sister, Mary Buckley and her husband Donald of Thompsontown; three brothers, Arthur Haubert and his companion Shirley Kidd of Newville, Gary Haubert of Thompsontown, and Leroy Haubert and his wife Eileen of Port Royal; numerous nieces and nephews; her in-laws, Merle and Ruth Maurer; and three brother in-laws, Bill, Dirk and Miles. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jeff, her first husband John Thompson (2015) and her sister Laura Fauver (2023).  

A viewing will be held at Richardson Funeral Home, 29 S. Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025 on Monday, August 28th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Pinchot Park Assembly of God, 2755 Rosstown Road, Wellsville, PA 17365 on Tuesday, August 29th at 11:00 am with a viewing prior to the service starting at 10:00 am. Following a luncheon at the church Donna will be taken to her final resting place at the Maze Cemetery in Thompsontown, PA.
