Earl Kenneth Heilner Jr.

E. Kenneth Heilner, Jr., age 78, was born on November 21, 1943, in Harrisburg, PA.  Ken passed away at the Penn State Hampden Hospital in Enola on April 3, 2022. Ken proudly served in the US Navy on the USS Lake Champlain CVS-39 aircraft carrier, during the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Ken was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and the Mechanicsburg VFW Post 6704, and a Charter Member of the Enola Sportsmen’s Club. He was a proud supporter of the National Rifle Association. Ken was an avid Red Sox fan. He enjoyed baseball, hunting and spending time with family and friends. Ken was a strong father and supporter of family and will be loved forever. Ken is survived by his wife, Kathryn Heilner of Enola and children including Charles Baker, James Baker, Jamie Swartz, Ronald Baker, Christina Lipschutz, Kenneth Heilner, Diane Grace, and thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at Richardson Funeral Home LLC, 29 S. Enola Drive, Enola PA 17025 on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. The viewing will be from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. The services will follow at 10:30 am with a procession to Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens where Ken will be laid to rest. Per Ken’s request, do not send flowers for his funeral and come dressed casually (“dungarees” and t-shirts). In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
