Edward M. Zacot, 73 of Enola, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 18, 2021 in his home with his family by his side. Ed, a native of Keyser, WV, was the son of the late Harry Kidwell and Louise Zacot. Ed was a highly decorated soldier, serving in the Army for 16 years before medically retiring. During his career, he served in various overseas duties including multiple tours in Vietnam, South Korea, and Germany, where he earned the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, multiple Bronze Stars, as well as other various unit and personal commendations. After retiring from active duty, Ed continued to serve his country for another 24 years through his work with the US Army Logistics Innovation Agency where he helped to develop and field systems designed to facilitate delivery of critical combat payloads, which ultimately improved combat effectiveness and saved soldiers' lives. Ed was a member of the Enola Sportsmen's Association, a member of the American Legion Post 751 Enola, and the Mechanicsburg VFW. Ed is survived by his wife Yepun C. Zacot; his children Diana Kraus of Keyser, WV, Jason Whitlock of Keyser, WV, Chimi Zacot of Alexandria, VA, Edward Faulkner of Waxhaw, NC, Francine Binnert of Albuquerque, NM; his brother Joseph Zacot of Keyser, WV; and sister Deborah Vanderbeck of Burt, NY. He was preceded in death by his brother, Francis (Butch) Zacot. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Richardson Funeral Home LLC located at 29 S Enola Dr, Enola, PA 17025. A visitation hour will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
