James P. Larkin, 64 of Mechanicsburg passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg. Jim was a proud first generation Irish-American and the son of the late James and Eileen (Tunney) Larkin. Jim was a Senior Damage Prevention Liaison for Pennsylvania One Call (811), before PA One Call he worked in various roles for EDS/Hewlett Packard in Camp Hill. He was a graduate of Purdue University Global. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Enola. Jim enjoyed spending time with his boys, coaching East Pennsboro Youth Soccer, Baseball and Basketball. He was an avid fan of Pittsburgh sports teams and especially loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was most delighted with his role of ‘Pappy’ to his two granddaughters – dancing, swinging on their swing set and singing Irish folk songs with them were some of his favorite moments.
Jim is survived by his wife Leah C. (Gordon) Larkin, his son’s; Patrick J. Larkin (Brenna) of Carlisle, and Thomas G. Larkin (Sarah), of Mechanicsburg, PA his Grandchildren; Tallulah M. Larkin, and Millie C. Larkin, a brother, Kevin M. Larkin (Ann) of Verona, PA, two sisters; Ellen Kiger (William) of West Mifflin, PA and Kate Indovina (Thomas) of Wexford, PA. Additionally, he was beloved by his surviving nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers and sister in laws. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, December 3, 2021 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 225 Salt Road, Enola, PA 17025. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM Friday, until time of services at the church.
