James K. String, 96, formerly of Etters, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, in the Bethany Village Retirement Center, Mechanicsburg. Jim was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, and the Bliss Electrical School. In Jim’s early career he was employed with G.R Sponaugle & Sons, he later started his own business, James K. String INC and S&S Industries until his retirement. Jim was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Camp Hill. Jim enjoyed monthly Lunches at Perkins Restaurant in Lemoyne, reminiscing with his graduating classes of Camp Hill High School. He was an avid Boater and fisherman; enjoying the Susquehanna river and the bay and Ocean at Ocean City Maryland. Most importantly was his family, watching sporting events of his children and grandchildren, and family get-togethers. He is survived by his wife, Blanche “Peg” (Rupp) String, his children; Mary Comp and husband Rick of Enola, Darrell String and wife Bonnie of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and Dale String and wife Joy of Etters, A brother, Floyd String and wife Lois, a sister, Joyce Mehler, Grandchildren, who referred to him as“Dimples”, Heather Zidek, Steve String, Laura Guelcher, Tyler Comp, Jared Comp, Robert String, and Amanda Jenkins, 15-Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Noble and Blanche (Keiffer) String, his first wife, Faye A. (Keim) String, and his sister, Patricia Bender. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, March 12, 2021 in the Richardson Funeral Home LLC , Enola. Funeral services will be held privately.
