Margaret M. Reed

March 1, 1950 ~ June 27, 2020 (age 70)

Margaret Mary (Peggy Laux) Reed, born March 1, 1950 to David and Marie Laux (Harrison), was

called home on June 27, 2020, surrounded by her husband of 47 years, Timothy G. Reed, and

her five children. Peggy is preceded in death by her son, Michael Patrick Francis Reed, her

parents, and her two brothers, Jeffrey and Robert Laux.

Peggy raised her nine siblings after the death of her mother. She will be missed by David Laux,

Jr. (Connie), Jim Laux (Cindy), Michael Laux (Chris), Karen Relic (George), Nancy Lichtinger

(Art, deceased), Bill Laux (Joanne), and Mickie Wrentmore. She was a favorite aunt and

great-aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a Godmother to several “God babies.” Peggy was

also a cousin to many, a friend to countless, and a wonderful hostess for her St. Patrick’s Day

Peggy devoted her life to being a mother to her six children: Melissa Beers (Tom), Marie

Stanton (Frank), Tim Reed, Meghan Clancy (Dan), Bridgette Kreutzer (Mike), and Michael. Even

more than being a mother, Peggy loved being a Mimi to her thirteen grandchildren: CJ

(Whitney), Gabby, McKenzie, Devon, Bride, Grant, Mary-Kate, Eryn, Cady, Caileigh, Michaela,

Connor, and Moira; and her two great-grandchildren, MaKenzie and Liam.

Peggy’s front door was always open, and anybody who entered her home was family. From

that day forward, your birthday was in her calendar and a card would be in the mail with your

name on it. Peggy would always keep in mind the “poor fellas” (the dogs) with treats for when

they told her their parents hadn’t fed them, and she thought “they must be starving.”
