Michael Piccolo Obituary

Michael P. Piccolo, 74, of Mechanicsburg, passed away after a brief illness at his home on February 12, 2022.  He was born on February 9, 1948, in Harrisburg, PA.  He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Elizabeth Madigan Piccolo, daughter Katherine Piccolo (spouse Dylan Zigler), son Michael J. Piccolo, grandchildren Eliza Zigler and Silas Zigler, sister Lucille (Richard) Moye of Gainesville, VA; brothers Robert (Suzanne) of York, PA; Ronald (Terri) of Carlisle, PA; and Douglas (Flori) of Fairfax Station, VA.  He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Dorothy Pease Piccolo.  Mike attended Bishop McDevitt High School, Class of 1966, and upon graduation joined the U.S. Air Force and served in South Korea during the Vietnam War.  Mike then worked for the New Cumberland Army Depot and Cumberland Valley School District as a mechanic.  He was a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament in Harrisburg, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg and American Legion post 594.
Mike was a hard worker all his life and always kept busy repairing things for relatives and friends, but he also loved relaxing on family vacations, baking with Mikie, gardening, golfing, and visiting the casino and track. A mass of celebration of Michael's life will be held on Friday March 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church 400 E. Simpson St. Mechanicsburg PA 17055. Military services will be held at Fort Indiantown Gap after mass.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Keystone Human Services at 4391 Sturbridge Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110, to be used for the home of Michael J. Piccolo.
