Phyllis A. Snyder, 78, formerly of New Cumberland, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg. Phyllis was born in Pittsburgh in 1941, to the late Marie Mae (Raup) Roberts and Krantz Long Roberts. She was a graduate of New Cumberland High School Class of 1959. She was a former employee of the former Bell Telephone, and retired as a Federal Women’s Program Manager from the New Cumberland Army Depot. Phyllis was a Volunteer for the Harrisburg River Rescue, was an advocate for Bat Conservation International, loved to share her craft creations and skills with family and friends. She also enjoyed camping and caring for all God’s creatures. Phyllis was the widow of James Snyder, who was an Army veteran killed in action during the Vietnam War, and Richard "Mike" Thiele, who was an Air Force veteran. Phyllis is survived by nieces: Sharon Feister of Camp Hill, Mitzi Feister also of Camp Hill, Tammy Roberts of Enola and a nephew, Timothy Feister and wife Donna Feister of Millerstown and a sister in-law, Beverly Paulus of Mechanicsburg. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Roberts. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm December 28, 2019 at St James Presbyterian Church, 1425 Orrs Bridge Road, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050. Reception will be held from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be held at a later date in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
