Reverend Joseph S. Gentilman, of Enola, passed away peacefully Monday August 9, 2021. Joseph was the son of the late Jeanne (Craig) and Fred W. Gentilman. Joe was a graduate of Lock Haven State College with a BS in History, and the Lancaster Theological Seminary with a MS in Divinity. Early in Joseph’s Career he was a teacher of History In the former Bald Eagle area School District where he also was a football coach. Joseph continued his career as a United Methodist Minister, serving with the Three Springs United Methodist Church in Three Springs, PA, the Bethany United Methodist Church in Milton, PA and the Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church of Enola, where he retired. In Joe’s retirement, he enjoyed cars, the History of the West, World War II, and watching the NASCAR Cup Series, most of all he had passion for the outdoors, watching college football and was a avid fan of Notre Dame. Joe was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Lamey) Gentilman and his bother Jon Gentilman. Joe is survived by his daughter, Paula J. Gaughan and her husband Greg of Paoli, PA, his granddaughter, Lydia Gaughan of Paoli, PA, his brother, Mark Gentilman and his wife Susie of Burke, Virginia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 17, 2021 in his church, Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church 22 Salt Road Enola, PA 17025. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Enola Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 22 Salt Road, Enola, PA 17025.
