Richard (Dick) Clark Obituary

Richard (Dick) C. Clark, 82 formerly of Enola, and Mechanicsville, VA, passed away, Friday August 27, 2021 in Richmond, VA. Dick was a retired Postal Carrier for the Camp Hill, PA Post Office. Dick was preceded in death by his wife Marlene M. Clark and his loving companion of 24 years, Jean Todd. He is survived by his children Rodney C. Clark, his sons Alexander Clark and Ryan Clark and their mother Kathleen; Richlene C. Devine and husband Larry and children Ashely Risser and Chelsea Shirk; Jean’s children, Carson R. Todd and wife Lesley and their children, Tyler and Jovi;  Ivy Sager and husband Greg their children  Anna, Shea and Todd; his brothers, Norman Clark and wife Janet of Rockville, MD, Albert Clark and wife Charlotte of Mechanicsburg, PA, and Raymond Clark of San Antonio, TX; along with great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and lots of great friends. Dick was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Mechanicsville, VA, where he volunteered at the free health clinic, lead the wood working class for youth at Vacation Bible School, and assisted with the church's building and grounds and transportation program. While living in Enola, Dick was a former Scout Master for Troop 61 in Summerdale. He was the director and coached Joe’s Midget Baseball Team for East Pennsboro Youth Athletic League, and was a member of the Enola American Legion Post 751 and also served in the Army National Guard of PA. In his retirement years, Dick enjoyed golf and was a member of the Glenwood Golf Course; he was also in a bowling league and actively involved in mission work with his church. Dick enjoyed gospel music and had a remarkable ability to find the best scratch lotto tickets. But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Grave side services will be held Friday September 3, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, 6839 Wertzville Rd., Enola. A Celebration of Life will be held on September 19, 2021 at 3:00 pm at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church in Mechanicsville, VA. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Dick's memory to the Cheryl Watson Memorial Clinic; c/o Shady Grove UMC, 8209 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23111.
