Robert (Bob) Comrey, a Lower Dauphin school bus driver entered into eternal rest at the age of 66 on December 26, 2023.
Bob was born at the Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 18, 1957, to Estelle Comrey and Robert Smilko. He was later adopted by Richard Comrey, all of which preceded him in death. After his high school graduation, Bob entered the Air Force where he was stationed abroad for two years and honorably discharged in 1980.
He continued working for our US Military as a civilian at the Army Depot in New Cumberland, PA and honed in on his true passion, carpentry. He then worked and retired from the Pennsylvania Department of General Services where he built cabinets for our legislators and proudly helped with the annual Christmas tree. In his later years, Bob was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church where he ran the soundboard on Sundays and was a part time school bus driver. He especially loved chauffeuring local high school sports teams to their events and cheering them on.
Bob leaves behind a daughter and son-in-law, Nichole and Andrew Sgrignoli of Camp Hill. Bob is survived by two brothers, Chuck Comrey, husband of Renee, and Jim Comrey, two half sisters, Terri McCarey and Leah Brinkerhoff, a step mother, Barbara Smilko, as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind Donna Sistek, his significant other, who made him extremely happy over the course of their relationship.
Services will be held on his 67th birthday, Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church 165 North 67th St. Harrisburg, PA 17111. A visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service at the church. Burial will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Annville, PA 17003 following the services.
