Robert Dennis Harpster

Robert Dennis Harpster, 75 of Enola, PA passed from complications relating to COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, with his family by his side. Robert was born in Lewisburg, PA on October 27, 1946,to Dale and Dorothy Harpster.  He proudly served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force.  He was a skilled conductor for many years and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.  He was a longtime and popular member of the Enola Sportsman’s Club, and American Legion Post 751.  A master craftsman, Robert designed and built his family homes.  He enjoyed construction and renovating projects of all challenges including his famed garage where he loved to spend time with family and friends watching Penn State football, and the Little League World Series.  He was a devoted husband who loved traveling the country with his wife.  He had an incredible passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles as he and his wife enjoyed countless exhilarating rides.  Robert also shared a love for animals and was always willing to adopt a dog who needed a home. Those left to cherish the memory of a man who always enjoyed an exciting time are his wife, Linda Benard Harpster, his two daughters, Shannon Harpster Shipton of Mifflinburg, PA and Tracy Harpster Rogers of Savannah, GA, a stepdaughter, Nicole Baselj, of Enola, PA and six grandchildren, Bryce, Ellyce, Isabella, Sophia, Molly, and Evangeline.  Two brothers, Skip, and Wally also survive him.  He was preceded in death by both parents, and his younger brother Steve. Services will be held at 1:00 pm at the Richardson funeral home LLC 29 S Enola Drive, Enola, PA 17025 on Saturday September 10, 2022.A visitation will be held from 11:00am until time of service at the funeral home.
