Robert S. Hippman, 96, of Enola passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 7, 1924 in Shamokin, PA to the late Stanislaw and Martha (Poteraski) Hippman. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, serving as a radio operator. Robert earned his Bachelor of Science degree at Bloomsburg University and briefly taught science at a secondary school. He was a retired car salesman with Chrysler Plymouth, he also worked in insurance sales with John Hancock, and was a member of our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Enola. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Dawn S. (Swartz), both sons; Robert E. Hippman Sr. and Brian P. Hippman I, his great-grandson; Nicholas R. Hippman, and both sisters; Elizabeth (Betty) Stark and Dorothy (Dot) Clark. Surviving are his five grandchildren; Robert E. Hippman Jr. (Stephanie) of Duncannon, Darrell G. Hippman of Liverpool, Stephanie A. James (Christopher) of Newport, Brian P. Hippman II of Etters, and Samantha D. Hippman of Dover; five great-grandchildren; Madeline, Alivia, Owen, Aalyiah and Ivy. Robert most enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and enjoying a beer with friends & family (most recently his best buddy’s Sid Sellers & Nick Duke). He was the patriarch of his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A visitation will be held from 11am-12noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12pm on Monday, November 9, 2020 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Enola, with Father Richard Mowery as celebrant. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Duncannon, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 225 Salt Rd., Enola, PA 17025.
