Ruth E. Germann

Ruth Evelyn (Leonard) Germann, age 74, passed away July 30, 2021 at West Shore Hospital. She was born March 13, 1947 in Rye Twp (Perry County), PA to Luin Landis Leonard and Mary Elizabeth Leonard( Lambert).  She married Terry Germann on December 28, 1968 who preceded her in death in 2004.  Ruth graduated from Susquenita High School in 1965. She worked various jobs before finding her passion in healthcare. She started at Harrisburg Hospital in the house keeping department before moving to central sterilization. Ruth worked hard to obtain a degree from Purdue University for sterilization of medical instruments. She only worked the 10pm to 6am shift so she could be home with her family during the day. Ruth worked over 30 years until retirement in March 2012. Ruth is survived by her son Terry Germann Jr (Enola), granddaughters Madison and Julia Germann (Enola), daughter Tina Germann (Enola), granddaughter McKenzie Shoop (Enola), son Brian Germann and wife Mary Troain Germann (Enola), nephew Jason Koons (Enola), nephew Matt Koons(Kendra) (Summerdale). Sisters; Virginia Hazzard (Marysville), Shirley Jones(Carlisle), Betty  Leonard(Marysville), Barbara Okeson (Gary), Kenneth Leonard(Connie) (Landisburg).  Brothers; Tommy Leonard (Marysville), Jimmy Leonard (Marysville) many other nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father and brothers Sammy, Bobby, Billy and sister Doris. Ruth enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren grow up and attended as many events as she could. She would always laugh when the granddaughters would say “oh grammy, what did you do”. After retirement she spent her days watching her soaps and relaxing. Services will be held August 10, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the Richardson Funeral Home LLC, Enola. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Perry Heights Cemetery Marysville, PA.  Contributions can be made to American Cancer Society@www.cancer.org
