Sally J. Bowen, 69, of Perdix began the next phase of her journey Friday March 18, 2022 at home. Born August 26, 1952 at Harrisburg Hospital, she was the daughter of the late Russel L. and Helen M. Romberger) Holtzman of Mechanicsburg. Sally is survived by her life partner of 21 years Shirley Spunaugle, brothers Tom and Larry Holtzman and extended family. Sally graduated from Mechanicsburg High School then began working with the Department of Labor and Industry before leaving for self employment in a leather working business with her husband Larry Bowen. After 10 years she moved on and settled in working at Diocesan Publications where she finished out her career. Sally was a private person and independent thinker who enjoyed intelligent conversations with a variety of people from all backgrounds. She was a complex person who led a simple life. Her favorite things were hanging out, having fun, the ocean, animals of all kinds but especially schnauzers, listening to music and her favorite artist James Taylor, Tony Romo and all things Dallas Cowboys. For those that knew her, she would want you to remember her laughter and fun times had by raising your glass and yelling GO COWBOYS! The one thing she could never understand was how the world could judge a person’s worthiness by their social status. May she finally be at peace which she so desperately longed for. Contributions may be made in her honor to your local animal shelter of choice. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family has requested no flowers to be sent please.
