lester Mitchell Hilbish Jr.

Lester Mitchell Hilbish Jr., 80, of Summerdale, died Wednesday, April 27, 2022 peacefully at home.  

Lester was born in Harrisburg, PA on November 24, 1941.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Sr. and Ruth (Hetrick) Hilbish.  

He is survived by his wife Judy of 58 years; three sons, Steven (Bridgette), Michael (Jennifer), and Larry (Coleen); four grandchildren Raechelle, Mitchell, Kody, and Chloe Hilbish, one step grandson, Chase Shulda and two sisters, Barbara Liddick (Larry) and Linda Hilbish. 

Lester retired as a mail carrier from the United States Postal Service in 2004.  Prior to that he was a grocery manager at Food Fair for 22 years.  Lester was a youth baseball and football coach at East Pennsboro Youth Athletic League (EPYAL) for 30 years.  He was also the president of EPYAL for many years.  Les coached the West Shore Teener League and many All-Star teams.  Lester enjoyed being on the sidelines running the chains at the East Pennsboro High School football games.  He was an overall supporter of East Pennsboro sports.  He enjoyed golfing, dirt track racing, and hunting.  One of his proudest accomplishments was harvesting an all cinnamon black bear.  But most of all, he loved being a Pappy to his grandchildren.   

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Richardson Funeral Home, 29 South Enola Drive, Enola, PA.  Funeral services will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2022  which will include an hour long viewing from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. with services immediately following.  Burial services will take place at Hill Cemetery, New Buffalo.
